Investigation of phytochemicals, spectral properties, anticancer, antidiabetic, and antimicrobial activities of chosen Ayurvedic remedies.

Abstract
Background: This study screened phytochemical properties, spectral characteristics, antimicrobial, antidiabetic and anticancer effects of the selected three significant Ayurvedic medicines (Kottakkal Ayurveda Triphala, Hinguvachadi Churnam and Jirakadyarishtam). Aim: This study explores anticancer properties (human colorectal carcinoma cell lines), antimicrobial properties (Bacterial and fungal strains) and In-Vitro antidiabetic efficacy of Triphala preparation. Methods: GC-MS and LC-MS analyses were conducted to identify the bioactive compounds in Triphala, Hinguvachadi Churnam, and Jirakadyarishtam, resulting in 30, 45, 8, and 15, 20, and 16 peaks that correspond to their bioactive compounds. Characterisation was carried out using FT-IR, UV–vis and ¹H-NMR spectroscopy to identify functional groups and chemical constituents. Results: The bioactive compound 8Ta found in Triphala exhibited a docking score and computed MMGBSA dG bind values against 6ULM of -10.73 and -59.52 kcal/mol, respectively. These docking scores confirmed its promising In-Vitro anticancer activity against the human colorectal carcinoma cell lines. In all three Ayurvedic extracts, a 5 (µg/ml) concentration declines the proliferation of the human colorectal carcinoma cell line by 33.42%, 28.06% and 26.79%, respectively. Conclusion: Three Ayurvedic remedies confirmed their significant antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetic, and anticancer effects compared to standard drugs. Furthermore, In-Vivo studies are required to expand the pharmacological knowledge of these drugs for other ailments.
